Well,<br />
It’s been nine years since iconic<br />
action-horror franchise The Mummy<br />
last hit the big screen, but we’ll<br />
forgive the wait now that it’s been<br />
rebooted with Tom Cruise leading<br />
the cast (whatever happened to<br />
Brendan Fraser anyway?!).<br />
And a lot has changed...<br />
MUMMY IS A LADY<br />
It’s the first time a female has played<br />
the creature in 85 years of mummy<br />
movies, which meant there was<br />
plenty of pressure on actress<br />
Sofia Boutella to get it right.<br />
“I’m an Egyptian princess who is<br />
promised to become pharaoh, and<br />
is deceived by her father,” says<br />
Sofia. “He removes that promise<br />
from her because he has... a son.<br />
Having nothing to lose, she<br />
summons the wrong god in order<br />
to get... that power that will give<br />
her what she was promised.”<br />

Having cheated death in<br />
a plane crash, Nick (Tom)<br />
