June 9. “Some people
cried, and there was a lot
of yelling,” says the contestant
source. “We’re pissed.
[Producers] could have seen they
were drinking too much and
stopped it.” But a former producer
for the show says he isn’t
surprised something like this has
happened: “It’s par for the course
that there is a drunken hookup
that went too far—that certainly
goes on all the time.” He notes
that it’s because “Bachelor in
Paradise is like spring break or
summer camp. No one’s forcing
you to drink, but it’s a party vibe.”

contestant Ryan Beckett agrees
that there is copious drinking on
the show: “People drink like they
are in college or on a cruise,” he
says. Still, Beckett says in his
experience, if things got out of
hand, producers always got
involved. “I felt like they definitely
had it under control,” he says.
Several show sources have said
they believe Jackson did nothing
wrong, and Harrison cautions
against a rush to
judgment. “There’s a
lot of misinformation
out there,” he
says. “It is my sincere
hope that we can
come to a quick
resolution on this and get back
to work very soon.” But
some believe Paradise
may be over for good.
“Every year there have
been questions about
whether or not the
show has gone too far,”
says a show source.
“This incident throws
into question if perhaps
the show simply needs

will intervene if
someone’s gotten too
drunk and can’t
handle themselves.
But if someone seems
to know what they’re
doing, we probably
will let that go. There’s
agrayarea.”

about the anticipated

‘So Ready’ for Baby No. 1!
For her first time as the star of her own baby shower, Whitney
Port longed for a “supercasual” evening get-together, and the
former Hills star got her wish. On the rooftop of the SIXTY
Beverly Hills Hotel on June 9, Port and her husband, producer
Tim Rosenman, were joined by about 50 friends and relatives to
celebrate their first child. Because the couple is waiting to find
out the baby’s sex, the gender-neutral shower “didn’t have a color
situation” and instead included “funky tropical” florals made
by her sister Ashley. As for the current Hills baby boom—costars
Heidi Montag and Lauren Conrad are also expecting—“We
don’t really keep in touch,” says Port. “I’m supporting them from
