Police officer Frank Thomas received a complaint about a loud dog in<br />
the neighborhood. He rode his motorcycle to the address, at the corner<br />
of Midway Avenue and River Drive. Now he is asking questions.<br />
Below are the answers that he is getting. Write a good question before<br />
each answer. When you finish you will have a dialog that you can act out<br />
with a partner.<br />
Officer Thomas: Who called in about the dog?<br />
Fred Brown: I did, Officer. I called in about the dog.<br />
Officer Thomas: __________________________________________?<br />
Fred Brown: Because the dog is barking. It’s Sunday. I’m trying to sleep.<br />
Listen to that noise!<br />
Officer Thomas: __________________________________________?<br />
Fred Brown: It started an hour ago. How can anybody sleep with that<br />
noise?<br />
Officer Thomas: I’ll ask the questions, Mr. Brown. You just give the<br />
answers.<br />
Fred Brown: Yes, sir.<br />

Fred Brown: My neighbor owns him.<br />
Officer Thomas: __________________________________________?<br />
Fred Brown: His name is Kovacik. Bob Kovacik. They own the grocery<br />
store on the corner.<br />

Fred Brown: They bought the dog last year. After a robbery. They think it<br />
will keep the robbers away.<br />
