Dr. Young- thus employs the<br />

terms Mind and Soul to describe the mental organism,<br />

and thus blends and confuses these two Creations,<br />

which God made separate and distinct. He thus<br />

eliminates the Soul creation, the possession of which<br />

distinguishes Man from the animal, makes him akin<br />

to God and endows him with immortality.<br />

This teaching- of Dr. Young's degrades man to<br />

the level of the brute and attributes his superiority<br />

over the animal to his more highly developed physical<br />

and mental organisms. Hence, the difference between<br />

man and the animal is simply one of degree, not of<br />

kind. This is the teaching of atheism, as shown by<br />

the utterances of Mr. Haeckel as follows:<br />
