reflection should convince us that this is the main issue;<br />

and had Jonah gone direct to Nineveh as he was commanded<br />

to do, the incidents related of<br />

his proposed visit<br />

to Tarshish, which Dr. McGar\^ey delights to discuss,<br />

would never have occurred. Still the question would remain,<br />

What was the trouble between God and the Ninevites?<br />

So long as we remain in ignorance upon this<br />

subject, it follows that we can never understand and<br />

appreciate the meaning of the Savior's utterances concerning<br />

the mission of Jonah to the people of Nineveh.<br />

Supposing, of course, that Dr. McGarvey's failure to<br />

enlighten us upon this most important subject was an<br />

oversight, we respectfully^ call his attention to it in the<br />

hope that he will kindly furnish the desired information.<br />

His repeated failures to do this lead us to call his special<br />

attention to the incidents recorded in the narrative of<br />

Jonah's visit to Nineveh, which are as follows:<br />
