Festive Cheer
The less privileged receive help and support
through Malaysia Airports' CSR programme,
Airport@Community
Saniah Mohamad Nor, a general
worker at Malaysia Airports will
be celebrating Eid this year
with joy and happiness. She
is the first recipient to receive
donations under Malaysia
Airports' corporate social
responsibility (CSR) initiative
called 'Airport@Community',
launched in May 2017.
The 70-year-old said, "I am very
grateful to the Almighty and
thankful that Malaysia Airports
cares about the plight of us less
fortunate people especially
during fasting period and the
upcoming Eid celebrations."
Saniah's financial assistance
under Airport@Community is
part of Malaysia Airports' aim
to improve the lives of local
communities living within the
vicinity of the airports and the
Sepang district.
RM30,000 from an allocation of RM150,000 will be used to
refurbish three residences that are occupied by locals living
around Sepang. The CSR initiative is also a reflection of the
commitment of Malaysia Airports in voluntarily helping to ease
the burden of life of those less fortunate through financial aid
or in the form of essential items.
Malaysia Airports Managing Director, Datuk Badlisham Ghazali
said, "Since the inception of Malaysia Airports, we remain
committed to carry out various corporate social responsibility
initiatives to assist local communities within areas in which we
conduct our business operations and today, we are launching
another programme, Airport@Community with the hope and
aspiration to help the less fortunate lead a better life.
He said the programme was timely for those receiving aid in
the form of home renovations and improvements as the months
of Ramadan and Syawal are all about lending a helping hand
to the unfortunate.
Badlisham added, "Hopefully, this programme will be carried
out not only to the locals in Sepang but to other communities
where we conduct our business operations too."
