Barchan Mad Comedy
SATURDAY 2 SEPTEMBER 2017 - 7pm - 11pm
Kilbarchan Performing Arts Centre
8 Steeple Square, PA10 2JD Kilbarchan
Dry your eyes, the holidays are over, now
prepare to spend the night crying with laughter
as another group of stand out comedians come
to Kilbarchan to entertain you.
Headliner Julia Sutherland was Fred MacAulay’s
radio co-host when she stumbled into stand-up
as part of an on-air stunt nearly a decade ago.
Now, she’s known for her observational as well
as deeply personal confessional comedy, covering the gamut of experiences
life has thrown her way. She picks apart modern life from her own unique
perspective, getting laughs out of everything from life in two different bodies
after major weight loss, to the inadequacies she feels as a parent.
An experienced broadcaster, Julia’s debut solo show Fat Chance was
commissioned as a half hour special on BBC Radio 4; she hosted The Good
The Bad and The Unexpected, and A Funny Kind of… on BBC Radio Scotland
as well as appearing on Breaking The News and Radio 4 Extra Stands Up. Her
TV credits Rory Bremner’s Rory Goes To Holyrood and Scotland’s Historic Year,
both on BBC Two.
Julia is supported by another four comedians plus of course our very own MC
Graham Barrie.
KDS - Not Just A Load Of
Old Luvvies !
A Luvvy is a humorous depreciative term for an
actor who is particularly effusive or affected.
Well, I have been a member of KDS now for 17 years and I
haven’t yet met a ‘Luvvy’ but what I have met is a lot of great people
of all ages and from all walks of life coming together to provide entertainment
for our local area. Some plays or shows may be better than others but you can
never deny they are certainly entertaining in some form or another!
So, if you are interested in joining us even as a social member to meet new
people I would love to hear from you. If you don’t want to get involved on stage
we are always looking for people to help with front of house, lighting , sound, set
building, etc so you don’t need to perform unless you want to!
We have several social events throughout the year and here are some photos
from our annual BBQ. A great afternoon/evening was had by all and a huge
thanks to Claire and Colin McClatchie for hosting and to everyone who came
along. Colin together with Russell Gibb did a great job as our chefs for the day
and there wasn’t a burnt sausage in sight!
But if none of the above appeals to you
please just come along and be part of
our audience. We rely on your support
and without it no future shows would be
possible.
Our premiere of Charles
Dickens ‘A Christmas Carol’
is on 23rd, 24th and 25th November at the Kidston Hall so Save the Date.
In the meantime Dahlings..
