YEARS. WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE TO BE
A PARTICIPANT AT THE FESTIVAL THIS
YEAR?
Buda Castle is a beautiful and worthy environment
for Budapest Wine Festival. The milieu of
the location, the night lights and the unity of
wineries are all factors of the high quality of the
event. Budapest Wine Festival is a particularly
well organised event where the latest developments
of Hungarian oenology come alive in the
long-standing medieval location. We like this
event very much and our guests are captivated
by the sight of the Danube and the high quality
wines.
What do you think what makes Szekszárdi
wine region to be the scene of high-quality
wines?
On the one hand the terroir, on the other hand
the well-prepaired winemakers. There are many
well educated professionals in Szekszárdi wine
region who can preserve flavours and aromas
in wines gained form grapes. Beside quality, diversity
plays an important role in the popularity
of the region. Visitors can recognise different flavours
in the same wine variety from the same
wine region but from different vineyard.
How will this vintage year be?
The weather of this summer favoured Szekszárdi
wine region very much, so the ripening
process began 1-2 week earlier than expected.
If autumn was not rainy this year would be a
super vintage year after 2011/2012. Warm and
dry weather favoure grape therefore high intesity,
full-bodied wines are expected for this year.
This is good news.
Which wines do you bring this year?
We have Irsai Oliver and rosé from 2017 on
offer and of course our classics such as Bodzási
Kékfrankos Selection, Merops Cuvée, Hidaspetre
Cabernet Franc Reserve and the other „favourites”
can be tasted as well at the Festival.
