The <strong>Maryland</strong> Nurse (TMN) is the official quarterly publication of the <strong>Maryland</strong> <strong>Nurses</strong><br />
<strong>Association</strong> (MNA) and is circulated to all registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and student<br />
nurses in <strong>Maryland</strong>. We welcome original articles and submissions for publication. The Editorial<br />
Board reviews all refereed submissions. Each issue focuses on <strong>Maryland</strong> nurses, student nurses,<br />
nursing practice, nursing education, employment, and articles of interest to nurses.<br />

Focused on the President’s Message, the 113th <strong>Annual</strong> MNA <strong>Convention</strong> highlights including,<br />
the newly elected board members and ANA Membership Assembly Representative, Nursing<br />
Student’s Scholarship Awards, MNA Awards, and poster presentations. An article on “Freeman<br />
Appointed to Council on Heart Disease and Stroke; an article on “Bridging the Theory Practice<br />
Gap Using Best Practice Assessment Strategies,” The 2016 MAAPC Conference Assists<br />
Advanced Practice Clinicians with New <strong>Maryland</strong> Prescription Drug Legislation Mandates; The<br />
