ARMY VETERAN REDEFINES
ACTIVE DUTY
When Todd Bailey saw a picture of himself from a family
Christmas party in December 2009, he was ashamed of
what he saw. At 230 pounds and 42-years old, Todd was
at his heaviest and felt miserable. He wasn’t working out
and ate whatever he wanted. He was active throughout
high school, playing football and running track, and
joined the Army after graduation, so he knew how to live
a healthy lifestyle. But that was 20 years ago.
In 2009, he heard about AdvoCare through a Drew Brees
commercial and went online to learn more about the
company and the products. He knew he needed a safe
form of energy, so in early 2010 he started drinking Spark ®
and began a 24-Day Challenge ® . * After the Challenge,
he cut out fried foods, drinking sodas, and focused on
his portions. Not only did he look better — after three
months, he also had enough energy to run his first 5k.
Excited about his initial success, Todd continued on his
journey toward a healthier lifestyle by adding in fresh fish,
lean beef, vegetables, fruits and tons of water to his diet
and exercising at home.
“It was like looking at Mount Everest in the beginning,”
says Todd. “I had to make up my mind to do it; it didn’t
happen overnight.”
After six months, Todd lost over 45 pounds and joined
a local gym to further challenge himself. He discovered
CrossFit ® and added products from the Performance
Elite Line to help build lean muscle. Five years into
CrossFit, he was invited to join the staff as a coach, which
he proudly accepted.
It’s been six years, and Todd has lost
a total of 65 pounds that he’s kept
off by working out four to five times
a week and eating smaller portions
consisting of fruits, veggies and
lean meats five times a day. He
wears the same size he wore in the
Army over 20 years ago, which he
says wasn’t an easy task.
