Mixed Senior Touch
This year, Mangere
College competed in the
Southern Zone Senior
Touch Competition.
Mangere College entered 3 teams
in total: Senior Girls, Senior
Boys and Senior Mixed. There
were only 2 teams in the Mixed
Division (Southern Cross Campus
& Mangere College) so those 2
teams automatically qualified for
Auckland Regionals.
To provide games for our Senior
Mixed Team, they were put in the
Boys' Division. Knowing that most
of the time, an all-boys team will
have the advantage over a mixed
team, our Mangere College Mixed
Team definitely put a question
mark over that stereotype.
Results:
1st Place in the Senior Touch
Rugby Southern Zone beating
Aorere College 6 – 1.
It was such an awesome
performance by the Mixed Team,
being undefeated in the Boys'
Division and also the Mixed.
Unfortunately, the team did not
end up proceeding into the next
stage which was the Auckland
Regionals as the ‘ASB Polyfest’
clashed on the same day.
