VAT refund for non-french exhibitors
For all information and practicalities regarding the application for VAT refund, exhibitors can directly contact

TEVEA International specializes in applications for VAT refund, and will handle all procedures up to the
payment of the refunded amount.
TEVEA International, in cooperation with SILMO, proposes a simplified, safe and quick procedure for your
company.
Important :
Only original invoices are accepted by the tax department for VAT refund. Keep them carefully.
If you lose your invoices, the amount of refundable VAT will not be reimbursed.
No copies, duplicates or certified copies will be accepted by the French Tax Department.The
Organizer is not allowed to issue a second original of the invoice.
� Non-French service providers working for exhibitors :
Stand constructors, equipment rental companies, decorators, … may not benefit from this procedure. All the
services they have provided in France are subject to French VAT.
These foreign service providers must invoice their customers with French VAT, and pay the collected VAT
back to the Tax Department via a French fiscal representative, after deducting the VAT paid on their
purchases.
Catering services for exhibitors
SILMO together with the restaurants of the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre have developed a renewed
and enlarged foodservice offering to meet visitors' and exhibitors' expectations:
o New businesses have opened in the exhibition centre:
Hippopotamus, Oliviers & Co, Lecointre Paris, Fauchon, Manhattan Hotdog…
o Take-away food has been expanded with a wider variety of products: sushis, vegetarian
meals, organic food, mediterranean cuisine, club sandwiches…
o To ensure optimum service during SILMO 2012, terraces offer a greater number of seats,
and menus and product information are available in several languages.

Exhibitors can hire the services of either the exhibition centre's caterers or of catering companies approved by
the exhibition centre.
For non approved catering companies, a special agreement must be obtained from the exhibition centre. The
calculation of fees on the basis of turnover (8% of total turnover excl. VAT) shall be specified in a contract.
