EXHIBIT OF THE BROOKLYN BIRD-LOVERS' CLUB<br />

Inspired by the example of other bird-<br />

clubs, the <strong>Bird</strong>-Lovers' Club of Brooklyn<br />

decided to hold an exhibit during the<br />

Easter holidays of 1916, from April 15<br />

to 29.<br />

The Brooklyn Museum provided space<br />

for the exhibit and interested friends con-<br />

house Company of Mcridcn, New Hamp-<br />

shire, by the Greenwich Protective Society,<br />

by the Sharonware Store, and by<br />

others.<br />

Erasmus Hall High School prepared an<br />

interesting exhibit; the Manual Training<br />

High School and the Glenwood Road<br />

tributed toward the expenses. Much was<br />

to be done and the greatest burden fell<br />

on the president. Many letters were<br />

written, asking for material to exhibit,<br />

and in no instance was it refused. Original<br />

paintings of birds were loaned by Brasher,<br />

Fuertes, and Horsfall, and Dr. A. A.<br />

Allen loaned photographs of 'Insect<br />

Pests and Their <strong>Bird</strong> Enemies.' The<br />

Museum contributed prints of Audubon's<br />

and Wilson's pictures, and a member<br />

loaned some neat originals. Nesting-<br />

boxes, feeding-devices, cat-traps and bird-<br />

baths were loaned by the Audubon <strong>Bird</strong>-<br />

Public School sent boxes made by the<br />

scholars. Two long tables were filled with<br />

bird- books by the Museum librarians.<br />

Neatly prepared charts, showing the<br />

principal migration-routes of certain birds<br />

were made. Four charts showed insect-<br />

pests and their bird enemies, and one<br />

showed enemies of birds. One chart that<br />

proved interesting had pictures of 59<br />

species of birds seen from the back windows<br />

of a city house. These charts were<br />

procured from the New York State Educa-<br />

tional Department. The National Asso-<br />

ciation of Audubon Societies gave charts
