Thirty-fourth Congress of the American<br />

Ornithologists' Union<br />

The thirty-fourth Annual Congress of<br />

the American Ornithologists' Union was<br />

held at the Academy of Natural Sciences,<br />

Philadelphia, November 13-16, 1916.<br />

The Congress was largely attended and<br />

the courtesies extended the visiting members<br />

by the Academy of Sciences and the<br />

Delaware Valley Ornithological Club in<br />

addition to the attractions of an unusually<br />

interesting program made it one of the<br />

most enjoyable in the history of the Union.<br />

At the business meeting of Fellows and<br />

Members the existing officers of the Union<br />

were re-elected and the following Members<br />

were elected Fellows: James H.<br />

Fleming, Toronto, Canada; Harry S.<br />

Swarth, Berkeley, California; W. F.<br />

Clyde Todd, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.<br />

The following were elected Honorary<br />

Fellows: Sergius Alexandrovich Buturlin,<br />

of Wesenberg, Esthonia, Russia; Prof.<br />

Dr. Max Fiirbringer, Heidelberg, Germany;<br />

Dr. Hans Friedrich, Gadow, Cambridge,<br />

England.<br />
