After saying the second khutba, he invokes benedictions on the<br />
Believers instead <strong>of</strong> preaching. It is necessary (mustahab) for him<br />
to mention the names <strong>of</strong> the four Khalîfas (Hadrat Abû Bakr,<br />
Hadrat ’Umar, Hadrat ’Uthmân, Hadrat Alî). It is harâm to insert<br />
a worldly speech into the khutba. The khutba must not be turned<br />
into a speech, a conference. It is sunnat to make a short khutba,<br />
and it is makrûh to make a long one.]<br />
5- To say the khutba before the namâz.<br />
6- To perform the Friday prayer in jamâ’at.<br />
7- For the mosque to be open for the public.<br />
There are nine conditions <strong>of</strong> wujûb for Friday prayer. That is,<br />
for it to be fard for a person requires the existence <strong>of</strong> the nine<br />
conditions that follow:<br />
1- To live in a city or town. It is not fard for musâfirs (travelers).<br />
2- To be healthy. It is not fard for an invalid person, for a<br />
person who looks after an invalid whom he cannot leave alone, or<br />
for a very old person.<br />
3- To be free.<br />
4- To be a man. Friday prayer is not fard for women.<br />
5- To be discreet and at the age <strong>of</strong> puberty. That is to be<br />
(Mukallaf).<br />
6- Not to be blind. It is not fard for a blind person even if he has<br />
someone to lead him.<br />
7- To be able to walk. Even if there are vehicles, it is not fard<br />
for a paralyzed person or for a person without feet.<br />
8- Not to be in prison, not to have fear <strong>of</strong> an enemy, the<br />
government, or <strong>of</strong> evildoers.<br />
9- There must not to be too much rain, snow, or mud. The<br />
weather must not to be too cold.<br />
How to Perform Friday Prayer?<br />
On Fridays, when the adhân <strong>of</strong> the early afternoon prayer is<br />
recited, Friday prayer is performed as sixteen rak'ats. These are<br />
respectively as follows:<br />
1- First, the first sunnat <strong>of</strong> Friday prayer, which contains four<br />
