ELECTION PREVIEW
@WESTNEWSMAG
WESTNEWSMAGAZINE.COM
Charlie Brennan of KMOX as Honorary Chairman
ELECTION PREVIEW, from page 54
bring honesty, openness and transparency
for citizens of Wildwood, rather than personal
views of councilmembers. I will not
support using taxpayer money as a financial
incentive for development. Taxpayer dollars
must be used to provide services for residents.
I will oppose a city-county merger. I
support sustainable growth, following the
master plan principals and protecting the
vision and mission of Wildwood.
I felt compelled to get more involved and
was appointed to the Wildwood board of
adjustment. I feel that city council is a
great opportunity to build on my involvement
and take a more active role in the
community. I want to ensure that we are
preserving the unique character of Wildwood
while making good decisions that
directly benefit the residents of our community.
I would like to bring my perspective
of resident with a younger family to
city council decisions.
My priorities have always been to maintain
the strong financial status of Wildwood
by continuing to use my financial strengths
in conjunction with the council and city
staff; continue to adhere to the ideals that
have made Wildwood such a desirable city
in which to live; listen to the citizens of
Ward 3 as well as all citizens for their ideas
and thoughts.
Ward 3 • Kevin Dillard
Wildwood needs new leadership at city
hall that is honest, transparent and ethical.
My top priorities include: Stop over-development
and bulldozing. Limit smart and sustainable
growth, and preserve and enforce
the city charter and master plan. Adhere to
conservative fiscal management: end the
marketing and public relations spending for
“economic development activity,” and no
taxpayer incentives to developers. End the
abuse of power by city officials. Residents
should be respected, listened to, and never
threatened or intimidated. Return transparency,
functionality and civility to city hall.
Ensure that Rockwood schools have the
support they need from Wildwood to keep
students safe. Defend the 3-acre, non-urban
zoning minimum.
Ward 4 • Andrew Bolazina
I am proud to be a resident of Wildwood.
Soon after moving to Wildwood in 2014,
Ward 4 • Steve Taylor
I will work in a collaborative way with
my neighbors to move the city of Wildwood
forward with integrity. I will work for
a city government that is transparent and
does not waste money. I am committed to
public safety and to improvements in road
and traffic conditions. Currently, residents
cannot ask questions directly of their representatives
at city council meetings. I will
work to change that. I support Wildwood’s
master plan, a village green in Town Center
for family events, concerts, art fairs and
farmer’s market. I believe in a proper balance
of development and preservation.
Ward 5 • Debra Smith McCutchen
Ward 6 • Cheryl Jordan
Lack of high-speed internet throughout
the city is a primary concern. For this
reason, I serve on the city’s rural internet
access committee to guide expansion of
internet access. Secondly, it is important
that residents are aware of resolutions and
decisions, such as zoning issues, before
they are approved. I will proactively notify
my Ward 6 neighbors of issues which concern
them, whether locally or in the city as
a whole, and encourage their involvement.
Thirdly, I will stand against misuse of
planned residential developments (PRDs)
