Jeanie Ames
I have dedicated over 25 years to Parkway.
As a student, parent, PTO president
and resident. Having three children who are
diverse and unique learners, I understand
the challenges facing families of students
with special needs. I understand that the
board of education is a body of oversight
on behalf of the taxpayers. We also have
the responsibility of evaluating and implementing
curriculum. Both of these should
be done with transparency while welcoming
parental input and targeting taxpayer
money where it will have the most impact.
As a former teacher, I understand the needs
of students. That knowledge, and my lifelong
involvement in Parkway, uniquely
qualify me to serve Parkway on the board
of education.
Kevin Seltzer
I am running for school board because
Parkway matters to me and my family. My
time with Parkway has given me an amazing
foundation for my life. It afforded me
the academic building blocks to become a
successful attorney. It instilled the values
that define me as a person and a citizen. It’s
even where I met my wife and where we are
raising our family. I want to be a force for
good in this community. My priorities are
creating the opportunity for achievement
for all students and promoting character
development and creating opportunities
for students to pursue their interests and
passions outside of a traditional classroom
setting; promoting school safety through
cooperation with all parties including students
and advocating for fiscal responsibility
and prudent use of resources.
Jonathan Taylor
I am a Parkway parent and resident concerned
with the direction our district has
taken under current leadership. I am running
to ensure that the voices and concerns
of all parents and taxpayers are listened
to and represented on the board. My top
three priorities will be to provide our students
and teachers with the highest level
of safety and security, allow them to focus
on academic excellence and deliver the
age-appropriate and relevant curriculum
options that the parents of the district want
for their children, and provide complete
financial transparency and accountability
to the taxpayers.
