EMBRACE IT
a neverver-ending project. There are
two things I believe in when it comes to
growing as a person; firstly, admit fear,
secondly, embrace it. Easier said than
done you might say? It is not. It is going
to be challenging, but it is going to
be worth it. Right now, there are more
opportunities than ever before, people
can become whomever they want.
The resources are there, you just need
to use them. I strongly believe in the
concept of “surrounding yourself with
successful people will lead to your success”.
This belief is not about success
rubbing off, it is about learning from
people who are where you want to be.
Compare habits and discipline, but do
not compare yourself to other people.
We all want different things, but we can
all learn from each other. Fundamentally,
pro athletes, scholars, or successful
business-owners all share similar traits.
They are dedicated to reaching their goal
and have a clear vision for it.
To conclude this article, I want to challenge
you to take a second, minute or
hour and think about who you are and
what you want to gain/learn from life.
Are you not the person you want to be?
Then think about who you want to be,
and how you can become that person.
Set clear goals. The reason people often
prioritize “mindless scrolling” on
Instagram, Twitter and Facebook etcetera
is because people do not have
clear goals. No clear goal of what they
actually want to achieve and therefore
cannot tell at the end of the week if they
achieved what they wanted to achieve.
Remember to start small, this is not
about making a life changing journey in
a matter of a day, it is about developing
the habit of embracing discomfort
and personal growth. Personally, I have
never been the reading type, but reading
books such as Outliers and Blink has
broadened my perspective of thought,
something that I want to work on. So,
ask yourself, what can you do today that
your future self will thank you for?
