my house, traveling, meeting a lot of<br />
inspirational people that will impact my<br />
coming career, and continuing to develop<br />
myself. I feel positive, I am excited to<br />
learn more about myself.”<br />
Talking about the future ties into the<br />
theme of this very issue, The Future is<br />
Now, Lisa expresses how she feels when<br />
hearing that phrase and thinking about<br />
how to take hold of life while being in<br />
the moment;<br />

“Spend your time wisely right now,<br />
today. You can only be perfectly sure<br />
about what you do today, not tomorrow,<br />
set the stage for your future and your<br />
career. Make sure to listen to yourself,<br />
what you believe in, and what you feel<br />
good about.”<br />
Lisa was an absolute pleasure to interview<br />
and I hope that reading about<br />
her drive towards higher education<br />
will inspire those who are on the fence<br />
about deciding to continue, to give it a<br />
try. You can find out a lot about yourself<br />
by pushing your comfort zone and<br />
boundaries by going for something you<br />
may not even know you were meant to<br />
do. Pursuing a Ph.D., let alone a master’s<br />
degree is an opportunity to hone<br />
in on what one is really interested in,<br />
meet inspiring professors and mentors<br />
in one’s field of study, and develop as<br />
a student and person as a whole. Your<br />
future is now, and whatever you decide<br />
can lead you down many interesting and<br />
inspiring paths.<br />
