Today, Amarillo’s economy is diverse and relatively resilient as a result of many years of long-range planning and wisdom from far-sighted Amarillo citizens. The Amarillo Economic Development Corporation has had great success searching out and bringing in new industries that have changed the complexion of what used to be a primarily agribusiness and oil and gas producing area.
