This year’s free Family Funday is on 2 September 10 - 2 pm at Westfield Cricket
Ground. There will be a cake stall, BBQ and beer tent, tombola and tuck shop selling sweets
and drinks. All are welcome so why not invite family and friends. There is limited parking so
please walk if you can, up past the Doctors’ Surgery.
It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that due to family commitments one of our lovely
helpers will no longer be able to help at youth club. We will miss Sarah greatly but want to
say a massive thank you to her for all her help and support over the years.
So from September we will be looking for a regular volunteer to help us out twice a month. If
you think you would be able to commit to this please contact me for more information on
WESTFIELD GUIDES and BROWNIES
hree of our Guides are working hard to complete their
T Baden-Powell Challenge before it is stopped at the end of
the year to be replaced by a new challenge. Many mum's and grandmother's will
remember this as a top award in the movement. Of the ten parts, the girls have
completed the World Guiding Badge, started compiling a recipe book for camp,
attended a conservation day at Forest Row and have started another badge.
They are booked to go canoeing and stand up paddle boarding also on a county
adventure day in May then sailing and windsurfing in June.
These activities are now fully booked but to take part in any future events any
girls aged between 10 and 14 are welcome to become a member.
For details contact Sally on 01424 754927 or text 0784 050 6426
This term the girls have chosen their own badges to work on
at our meetings and some at home or at other clubs.
Games and action songs are popular at the moment to
complete the meeting and as a fitness challenge we are planning a walk around
the school walk track every week of the summer.
Over half of the girls attended a special silent disco on 21 April at
The Brass Monkey in Hastings where they danced and tried
mocktails. At our meeting on 24 April they celebrated St George's
Day making costumes and dragons.
