Already farming in Peasmarsh, supporting schools and a senior’s lunch club in Northiam, the charity has recently purchased 18 acres of beautiful land which includes woodland and even an Edwardian Walled Garden on Moor Hill, Hawkhurst. The plan is to restore the garden, which used to feed the residents of Hall House, to its former glory and beauty, making the site a place to grow, learn, meet and enjoy for everyone in East Sussex and West Kent. The plans are (apart from growing food of course!) to create several projects here, including a Forest School, Men In Sheds, Hens of Hope, Bee in Company, Schools’ Projects, Helping Hands Lunch Clubs, Children and Families’ Cooking Schools and much more. We are looking for all kinds of volunteers, skilled and unskilled, including ground workers, joiners, brick layers, electricians, plumbers, catering assistants for our food van and so on. We are also looking for a cook van manager to travel, educate and sell vegetarian food at festivals etc. In addition, we are also after a head grower…have you got green fingers?
