PRIMARY SCHOOL CULTURE
This term is an exciting term for culture!
There are several culture events coming
up. Please keep an eye on the following
dates:
1. 20 – 23 August: Internal culture week
2. 28 August: Culture gala evening
3. 3 – 7 September: Book week
4. 3 September: Mad Hatter’s tea party
5. 8 September: Mother and daughter’s
tea (Tickets for sale at reception)
We encourage learners to take part in
the various activities. Thank you for your
continued support of culture at Curro
Roodeplaat.
DIRK VAN DER WESTHUIZEN VISITS
CURRO ROODEPLAAT
Dirk van der Westhuizen, a popular
singer, surprised one of our classes
with a quick visit after he heard that
they are some of his biggest fans. He
brought a CD for each and they, in
return showed him that they know every
dance move from his latest hit “Die
tennis tune”. This was without a doubt a
day they will always remember!
THEY SURE CAN DANCE
Larissa Botha and Mieke Greyling were
chosen to dance with Arno Jordaan on
Saturday, 28 July at “Afrikaans gaan
klein”. This show was held at Weiveld
in Pretoria. Both girls have been dancing
for 6 years and were very privileged
to be chosen for this occasion. Two
shows were held, and both were sold
out- meaning that over 2000 people
attended.
There were only 5 dancers chosen to
perform for this occasion.
Arno Jordaan was the host and the
opening act. Only 5 dancers were chosen
to dance in the opening act with
him – definitely a mammoth moment for
our very own Larissa and Mieke!
