MEETING SCHEDULE:
Accomplished primarily by email with conference calls as needed.
HIGHLIGHTS from July 01, 2017 to June 30, 2018:
• Updated the 2014 District Nurses Association (DNA) Bylaws Generic Template which was
approved by the MNA Board of Directors (BOD) in August 2017 to bring the DNA Bylaws into
conformity with the October 2016 MNA Bylaws.
Ø Updated the 2014 Bylaws for each of the seven active DNAs (DNA 1, DNA 2, DNA 3, DNA
5, DNA 6, DNA 7, DNA 8, and DNA 9) based on the approved DNA Generic Template and
the October 2016 MNA Bylaws.
Ø Emailed in August 2017 to each of the seven DNA Presidents a copy of their 2014 DNA
Bylaws with the 2017 proposed amendments shown via track changes and approved by
the MNA BOD. DNA Bylaws state that the DNA must amend the DNA Bylaws the year
after MNA amends its bylaws to bring the DNA Bylaws into conformity with the MNA
Bylaws
Ø Provided step-by-step instructions about actions that needed to occur at the DNA level
regarding how, when, and with what materials DNA members needed to be notified of
the intent to amend the 2014 DNA Bylaws at the DNA membership meeting in the Fall of
2017.
Ø Worked one-on-one with most DNAs as a resource to facilitate the amending of the
2014 DNA Bylaws with the 2017 proposed amendments and the adoption by their DNA
membership in order to stay in compliance with their DNA Bylaws.
Ø OUTCOME: DNA 2017 proposed amendments to the DNA Bylaws were adopted by the
DNA Membership at Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 annual membership meetings for six of
the seven DNAs: DNA 1, DNA 2, DNA 3, DNA 5, DNA 7 and DNA 9. The only DNA who
has yet to amend their bylaws to bring them into conformity with the 2016 MNA Bylaws is
DNA 8.
