<strong>2018</strong> <strong>Maryland</strong> <strong>Nurses</strong> <strong>Association</strong><br />

Issue 3 (May, June, July <strong>2018</strong>) featured the MNA President’s message that provided insight into the<br />

115th <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Convention</strong> scheduled for November <strong>2018</strong>. The message discussed networking, and<br />

nurses as advocates, stressing these components as essential to the profession of nursing. Schools<br />

of Nursing articles, included special participation and recognition from Coppin State University,<br />

University of <strong>Maryland</strong>, and Johns Hopkins University. Additional special articles were published on<br />

“Nur$e$ Money Matter$,” “The MANS Corner,” and “District 2 News.” An MNA sponsored event,<br />

“<strong>Nurses</strong> Night in Annapolis,” a HSCRC sponsored event, “the Nurse Support II Grant Program,”<br />

which funded two certified nurse educator (CNE) workshops to increase the number of certified<br />

nurse educators, a Call for Abstracts for the 115th convention, a featured article on “Mentoring: A<br />

Guide to New Faculty Success” and the June <strong>2018</strong> induction of 64 nurse practitioner leaders as<br />

Fellows of the American <strong>Association</strong> of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP).<br />

Issue 4 (August, September, October <strong>2018</strong>) featured an introduction and greeting from the<br />

Executive Director, Ms. Jennifer Arigo. This issue featured several schools of nursing news<br />

including, the University of <strong>Maryland</strong>, Johns Hopkins University, and Baltimore City Community<br />

College, the ANA assembly news, the announcement and agenda for the <strong>2018</strong> MNA <strong>Convention</strong>,<br />

and news from the summer activities of Districts 2 and 9.<br />

A Special “Thank You”<br />

Thanks to all <strong>Maryland</strong> nurses for their support and contributions to the journal. I wish to thank<br />

everyone at MNA, particularly those on the Editorial Board, the CSO, and our publisher, Monique<br />

Heddens at Arthur L. Davis Publishing Agency, Inc. for their encouragement and assistance in<br />

publishing this years’ issues.<br />
