Pet Partners of Coastal Carolina, an animal
therapy organization, is looking for pet owners
interested in training their animals for therapy
work in local nursing homes. Owners must
complete a handler’s on-line training class
which teaches them the principles of animal
assisted therapy.
Once this training is completed, the owner and
animal complete specialized training with a
local trainer who prepares the team for evaluation
by a Pet Partners evaluator. All animals
must be current on their vaccinations and be
screened by their local veterinarian.
The next meeting of Pet Partners is Nov. 14, 5
pm, at the Pasquotank County Public Library,
100 E. Colonia Ave. For further information,
