Northern Atrocities Forced Upon Southern Civilians and Noncombatants by the
Armies of the North 1860-1880 By Dr. Dave
In 1862 Grant ordered two special orders during the occupation
of Memphis, TN. Special Order #14 announced the eviction
of all families from Memphis if found that anyone possessed
official ties to the Confederate government, and particular order
#15 a get-out clause of exception for those who would willingly
take an oath of loyalty to the United States Government.
A Memphis church was taken over by Grant’s Army and a
mass conducted by US Army Chaplains only. Grant’s comment
very bluntly- his troops would occupy the church and not be
called upon to hear Confederate sentiments proclaimed from the
pulpit. Preachers in the South by order of Grant were expected
to praise Lincoln, those who refused had their services canceled
and banned. The churches destroyed or shut-down and Southern
preachers arrested.
Sherman proved no less domineering and told the Mayor of
Memphis that religion had no say in the matter and that the US
military must be superior to all civil and religious authority. When
a Northern steamboat fired upon near Randolph, TN Sherman
the pyromaniac immediately ordered the whole township of Randolph,
TN burned to the ground with no exception and ejected ten
families from the city.
In Norfolk, VA, due to Lincoln’s domineering control of the
blocking of incoming goods and supplies from shipping lanes
and the bottling up of the Outlands, the city was in a catastrophecausing
mass starvation and the crippling of the town’s economy,
turning even many Southern Unionists against US military rule.
In the city, all enforced by the control by the US Officer corps- the
names of John A Dix and Benjamin “Beast” Butler come to everyone’s
mind here in Northeastern North Carolina. Secretary of War
Edward Stanton whole-heartedly pushed forward these actions.
Lincoln backed by the military wanted full, supreme authority with
or without congressional approval. Lincoln gave “Beast” Butler a
free hand even to the extent of abusing military power until Jan.
7, 1865 when “Beast” Butler dismissed for insubordination.
The invading US Army destroyed or stole everything that got
in front of them, food, medicine, livestock, homes, clothing, and
the violating of women no matter what color or race, out of hate
of Southern Society, -thanks to the US Army’s willingness to carry
unlawful and immoral orders. Lincoln personalized the war for the
civilian population of the South with his political desires of complete
subjugation. The US Army carried off and stole as much
as was humanly possible to transport. In a letter from Gen. D. H.
Hill C.S.A. to Gen. J. G. Foster of the Yankee Army- archived in
the North Carolina records, C.S.A. page is a good description of
how the US Army conducted itself. Two of the worst were political
Generals from Massachusetts were Benjamin “Beast” Butler and
Edward Wild of the US Army. Beast Butler was just the beginning
of the New England Cartel.
Unknown to everyone not tied in with the US Government was
the New England merchants secretly made millions of dollars
from as far back as the 1700s transporting African victims on
New England Cartel owned ships. Almost forgotten by history
is a curious the founder of the New England Cartel- Elihu Yale.
Elihu Yale was, in fact, the founder of the feast in the Slave trade.
While in England, Elihu made his fortune on human trafficking of
African victims. Later, Yale University took its name after this conman.
If the readership will recall, recent left-wing activists at Yale
University wanted Calhoun hall renamed because of John C. Calhoun’s
Political career and defense of the South but no mention
of changing Yale University’s name. Should we ask ourselves if
new left even knows its history? Slavery is America’s original sinas
a history, no one’s hands are spotless. Not even the new left.
The ships called- slavers- brought to New England and when
they realized that they could not control the victims instead of
freeing their prey or taking the victims back where The Cartel
got agents to persuade the agrarian south of the value of owning
slaves and sold unknowing Africans victims at high prices
to Southern Planters. Southern Planters made these unique
relationships work economically and the Cartel - then- decided
to respond with tariffs of Southern raw materials into Northern
markets- or taxation without representation.
When the South seceded from the North, Northern manufacturers
saw the end of their “cash cow” which to some extent
the Cartel created along with Southern Planters. The idea of
charging off a tariff on incoming southern goods pushed Lincoln’s
Administration to bring the Southern States to heel. Many
Southern political leaders thought this action to be in retaliation of
The Southern States idea of States’ rights doctrine. Lincoln sent
a brutal invasion force to kill and destroy everything Southern and
pass it on to puppet master Lincoln and his New England Cartel
for one purpose- to take over the
South and enforce their New England ideas of societal uniformity
and religious Puritanism onto a defeat People.
After the surrender at Appomattox, The Southern States would
find itself in a 12 year period of Military occupation and a 105
year period economic despotism only then to get a brief economic
reprieve during the Reagan Administration. What a modern
Southerners should never forget is the New England Cartel’s
domination of industry, infiltration of churches to quote “ reeducate”
Southern people, hijacking of local political offices and
forced association within our institutions for a significant part of
the 20th century. Follow the money-
