Welcome to the month of November. The weather is getting
cooler outside and leaves are changing. During this month
we celebrate our thankfulness for all that we have. The Museum
of the Albemarle is very grateful for its volunteers, supporters,
donors, lenders, Friends of the Museum of the Albemarle members,
and wonderful visitors. The Museum offers programming
this month focusing on Veterans Day, World War I, and an early
Christmas decorating workshop. Join us for History for Lunch
on November 7 for a lecture recital of works by composers and
poets during World War I. Tot Time on November 8 honors veterans
by focusing on the poppy flower. November 17 is our annual
Designer Workshop. This year attendees can transform metal
containers into true Christmas gifts.
Our ongoing exhibitions include our main gallery, Our Story:
Life in the Albemarle, River Bridge: Sunken Secrets, Tarheels in
the Trenches, Stop and Smell the Roses, Celebrating 60 Years
of the Albemarle Craftsman’s Fair, Memorable Sands: Beaches
of Northeastern North Carolina and Southeast Virginia, 50 Years
of Museum History, the NC Shad Boat. Discover: Sailing the
High Seas is our newest Discovery Room with maritime-themed
activities. Visit soon, Stop and Smell the Roses and Memorable
Sands will be closing on November 17.

Join us at MOA beginning November 26 to celebrate the
Christmas season as we continue our model train set into a
backdrop of scenic Northeastern North Carolina. School days for
the Christmas programming of Appalachian Mountain Christmas
begin also on November 26.
As a special treat, pictured below are postcards from the museum’s
collection relating to Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving.
Dr. Bald and Associates
At Dr. Bald & Associates, the patient is the most
important person in the room. A recent patient
commented, “I was extremely impressed with Dr. Bald,
his bedside manner and wonderful staff! My tooth was
pulled before I knew it was gone! How great is that?”

When you call to schedule an appointment we will ask
you several specific questions so we can give you the
best possible care. Even though Dr. Bald has extracted
over 350,000 teeth, each patient is an individual and
every case is unique.
Since 1990 Dr. Bald has been providing excellent oral
surgery care for people in the Albemarle Region. Our
Elizabeth City location recently moved to 1134 N. Road
Street, Building 7, near the hospital. We also have an
office in Nags Head where we currently do surgeries
on Thursdays. We offer Saturday appointments in our
Elizabeth City office. At both locations we pull teeth AND
place implants, do biopsies, treat broken jaw bones, and
many other services.
Please call us for your oral surgery needs. We accept
referrals but a referral is not required. If you have an
x-ray of your tooth/teeth from another dentist in the past
6 months we will discount your charges and give you
a free full mouth x-ray. Be prepared to give us your insurance
information so we can contact your insurance and
give you an estimate prior to being seen. If you have no
insurance, we are happy to give you a quote.
