processing industry<br />
For foreign ingredients specialists, <strong>Turkey</strong>’s food processing<br />
industry is something of a captive market – one that<br />
contains millions in potential revenue.<br />
<strong>Turkey</strong> has a modern and developed<br />
food processing industry which represents<br />
16 percent of all manufacturing<br />
in the country. There are over 42<br />
thousand food processing and more<br />
than 500 beverage producing enterprises<br />
in <strong>Turkey</strong>, with concentrations<br />
in fruit and vegetable preparations<br />
and processing, bakery products, meat<br />
products, and dairy processing. There<br />
are 577 foreign direct investments in<br />
food and beverage production. <strong>Turkey</strong><br />
remains a net exporter in the processed<br />
foods industry.<br />
<strong>Turkey</strong> and food processing have a<br />
robust relationship. It is the Middle<br />
East’s largest food and beverage producer<br />
and the 7th largest producer<br />
