PUBlIC MEETING TO DIsCUss NEW HEAlTH HUB AND
GP PRACTICE MOVEs
There has been a great deal of interest in the new Sainsbury's development off Burnham
Road in South Woodham Ferrers, not least due to the new health hub being built there
and plans for the town's three GP practices to move in.
The three practices will be hosting a public meeting on the evening of Wednesday 9th
January 2019 to share the plans for the health hub.
The meeting will be held at William de Ferrers School, Trinity Square, South Woodham Ferrers, Essex, CM3 5JU and run from 7.30pm
to 9pm on the 9th, with the three town practices jointly hosting.
A frequently asked questions list about the new health hub will also be available for you to read on the practices' websites and in
other places shortly.
Everyone is welcome to come along to the meeting on 9th January. Please register a place beforehand, so the practices can get an
idea of the number of people attending, by visiting Eventbrite or calling 01245 398 750. Your GPs and partners across the local NHS
will look forward to welcoming you.
Patients please go to the three practice websites for the FAQs:
New Health Hub
Following up from my previous letters, in these columns, regarding the transfer of the 3 doctors surgeries from the Town to a single
building on a new site north of the Town, at long last the powers that have made this decision, the NHS and the doctors have finally, after
over two years of discussion between themselves, decided to have a public meeting to tell the patients what they have decided is best
for us, the patients. They obviously did not consider that we might not have the same views regarding this move as they obviously do. They
say that they have had recent conversations with 'local organisations and residents’, does anybody know who the people are? This is not
the doctors patient groups, not the Town Council or maybe our City Councillors, although I do not remember any information forthcoming
from any of them. So after over two years of consultation the only people, it seems that have been involved, are our Doctors, the NHS and
I am led to believe the Surgery managers, who haven’t been involved, you guessed it, those most affected THE PATIENTS! Sorry I lied, I
received an E-mail last week asking if I would like to suggest a name for the new building, really?
So if you have concerns regarding this matter make sure you make every effort to attend this planned meeting in order that you can make
sure that the people who have made this decision on your YOUR behalf, are fully aware of your feelings on this matter.
To make sure that those of you who cannot attend this meeting, when it finally takes place ,I would like you to take time to complete the
attached slip and return it to the boxes located in the library and adjacent to the customer service desk in ASDA.
Thank You P. Wyatt
