Portrait Drawing and Painting
This class is structured to develop
and nurture the student's aesthetic
vision concerning painting portraits.
Students will learn basic
structure and proportions of cranial
and facial parts of a head and the
first steps in the art of painting portrait.
They will learn to incorporate
light, shadow/tone and colour
to bring portraits alive. Students
will also paint their self-portraits.
The self-portraits will employ subjective
approach. Students will be
encouraged to value not only resemblance,
but also an expressive
