FRONT DESK<br />

Registration Desk: The front<br />

desk at Evergreen is currently<br />

recruiting for the registration<br />

desk. If you like to work as part<br />

of a team, provide excellent<br />

customer service, and work on<br />

the computer, this is a position<br />

for you. Available days: Monday<br />

mornings 8:45-12:15 and a<br />

temporary shift for every Tuesday<br />

morning 8:45-12:15. Full<br />

training is provided.<br />

EVERGREEN<br />

RESTAURANT<br />

Kitchen Assistance: If you<br />

like to work in a team environment,<br />

socialize with other volunteers,<br />

and provide customer<br />

service, this might be for you!<br />

Assistance is needed in the<br />

kitchen to help with food preparation,<br />

serving and assisting<br />

with odd jobs from 8:45-1:15<br />

on specific days during the<br />

week. For more information,<br />

please speak to Chef Jocelynn.<br />

Coffee Volunteer: Every other<br />

Friday from 8:45-1:15 in the<br />

dining room. If you like a slower<br />

pace and working as a team<br />

and providing great customer<br />

service, this is for you! Tasks:<br />

assist the customers with the hot<br />

beverages, keep the dining<br />

room clean and tidy, and assist<br />

with <strong>small</strong> tasks assigned by the<br />

chef. Training is provided. For<br />

Dishwasher Volunteer: We<br />

are currently seeking two dishwasher<br />

volunteers to help keep<br />

the kitchen tidy and clean after<br />

meals. These positions would<br />

start in April <strong>2019</strong>. We are<br />

looking for volunteers on Mondays<br />

and Tuesdays from 9-1:30.<br />

Full training will be provided.<br />

Dining Room Cashier: Cashiers<br />

are needed in the dining<br />

room. For more information,<br />

AGE FRIENDLY GUELPH<br />

By 2031, Guelph’s population<br />

is projected to be 175,000 with<br />

57,000 people over the age of<br />

55. The City’s Age Friendly<br />

Guelph (AFG) is recruiting volunteers<br />

in the following areas:<br />

Marketing<br />

Communications<br />

Community Outreach<br />

Working Group members are<br />

being recruited to assist with the<br />

implementation and hands-on<br />

guiding of the working groups.<br />

to become a volunteer with Age<br />

Friendly Guelph or any of the<br />

current roles with the committees,<br />

please speak to the Volunteer<br />

Co-ordinator in the main<br />

office.<br />

GWSA COMMITTEES<br />

Computer Mentors: Computer<br />

Mentors are needed to assist<br />

with computer requests. Basic<br />

requirements include answering<br />

questions and assisting with<br />

specific computer problems, assisting<br />

with Windows operating<br />

system, basic operations of a<br />

computer (emailing, browsing<br />

the internet, MS Word and handling<br />

digital photographs, tablets<br />

and smartphones). Volunteers<br />

are required for mentoring<br />

on Mondays from 1:00-3:00 in<br />

the computer lab at the Evergreen<br />

Seniors Centre.<br />

Membership & Marketing<br />

Committee:<br />

M&M is looking for 2 GWSA<br />

members to join the creative<br />

team for a 2-3 year commitment.<br />

If you have good communication<br />

skills (written and verbal),<br />

enjoy marketing and promotion,<br />

and being a part of an<br />

active team that meets every<br />

second Tuesday of the month in<br />

the morning, please speak to the<br />

Volunteer Co-ordinator for<br />

more information.<br />

GWSA Assistant Webmaster:<br />

An assistant is needed to help<br />

with updating content on the<br />

website. Skills required:<br />

knowledge of website management,<br />

familiarity with content<br />

website management systems,<br />

specifically WordPress, ability<br />

to use website editing tools, and<br />

a commitment of up to 4 hours<br />

per week.<br />
