Senior leaders from <strong>Thurrock</strong> schools and local authority representatives are invited to the<br />

Leadership Symposium to:<br />

• Reflect on the experiences of <strong>Thurrock</strong> <strong>Trailblazer</strong> since <strong>20</strong>14<br />

• Learn about future opportunities for cultural learning initiatives for <strong>Thurrock</strong><br />

• Find out about the opportunities the new <strong>Thurrock</strong> LCEP (Local Culture and Education<br />

Network) can offer<br />

• Explore the Arts as a vehicle to cross curricular learning and school development<br />

• Help to shape the strategy for the future of cultural learning in <strong>Thurrock</strong><br />

The content of this symposium is being developed by cultural learning specialists and senior<br />

leaders from <strong>Thurrock</strong> schools. Led by Katherine Zeserson* and Gabrielle Forster-Still** you will<br />

hear from a range of <strong>Thurrock</strong> teachers sharing their experiences. You will be invited to share your<br />

aspirations for your school, your students and your school communities and contribute to<br />

developing a future strategy for cultural learning in <strong>Thurrock</strong>.<br />

*Katherine Zeserson has an international reputation as a strategic thinker, leader, facilitator, trainer and educator in a wider<br />

range of education and arts contexts. Katherine has worked with the Royal Opera House’s Learning and Participation team<br />

in <strong>Thurrock</strong> for the last three years and has designed and led cultural leadership programmes for <strong>Thurrock</strong> <strong>Trailblazer</strong><br />

cultural champions and Leaders in <strong>Cultural</strong> Learning (LiCL).<br />

**Gabrielle Forster-Still leads the Royal Opera House’s Learning and Participation team in <strong>Thurrock</strong> and has, over the last 10<br />

years, been the creative force behind most of its programmes and initiatives. In particular, Gabrielle has led on the design,<br />

development and delivery of <strong>Thurrock</strong> <strong>Trailblazer</strong> since its inception in <strong>20</strong>14 and the development of ‘Design and Make’ a<br />

ROH national programme supporting the next generation of theatrecraft artists and aspiring students from primary school<br />

to FE.
