disadvantaged and hard to reach groups,
especially to help raise awareness and
RECOMMENDED
This offer could complement the following:
• Into Film: Literacy through Film CPD
• National Theatre: Let’s Play
• Punchdrunk: A Small Tale
Stop motion animation is animation that is
captured one frame at time, with physical
objects that are moved between frames. When
you play back the sequence of images rapidly,
it creates the illusion of movement.
Using a range of materials such as paper, card
or found objects, students will create a short
animated film with animation software and
miniature cameras.
• Demonstrate knowledge of video editing
software and stop motion animation
techniques
• Students further develop their planning and
storyboarding skills
• Explore creative writing and imaginative
storytelling, generating ideas and
transferring them into film
The individual animations will be combined
into a single film by Signals for schools to use
freely. Films could be showcased in school in a
film screening, exhibitiion or culmination event.
