Full House is a child focused arts organisation delivering performance projects for children<br />

and young people with a vision for every child to hold treasured memories of theatre. With the<br />

audience at the heart of the work Full House carefully craft, programme and develop theatre<br />

and performance projects for, by and with children and young people. Existing to enrich young<br />

creative minds, delight young audiences, and nurture a lifelong connection with the arts. Full<br />

House are recognised nationally as makers of innovative, playful and authentic work for young<br />

audiences.<br />

Day Dreamers is a unique and immersive audio<br />

adventure for children by Full House Theatre.<br />

“Meet Imogen Stretcher, winner of the In Your<br />

Dreams Inspirational Woman of the Year Award<br />

<strong>20</strong>18 and founder of the Day Dreamers three<br />

step programme. Imogen has arrived in your<br />

school to help more people experience the<br />

wonder of a day dream... We all have powerful<br />

imaginations, but perhaps they’ve just been<br />

dormant for a while. Imogen is here to wake up<br />

those imaginations and to stretch them further<br />

than you could ever think possible!”<br />

Self-help guru meets The Crystal Maze in a<br />

zany interactive experience which encourages<br />

creativity and is bursting with fun.<br />

Using silent disco technology and guided by<br />

two live performers the Day Dreamers<br />

experience is designed by children’s theatre<br />

innovators Full House.<br />

It’s well known that most people to dream at<br />

night, when sleeping. So, to harness the undoubted<br />

power of night time dreaming everyone<br />

will don a dressing gown to wear during<br />

the show! Wearing wireless headphones, the<br />

audience will be challenged to expand their<br />

creative horizons by taking part in challenges<br />

and eventually helping Imogen with a mystery<br />

mission.<br />

The age guidance for the piece is 7 to 11 years<br />

(KS1-2).<br />

Up to 60 children can take part in each<br />

performance.<br />

DATES, LOCATION & FORMAT<br />

Day Dreamers is designed to be performed<br />

outdoors in an enclosed playground or school<br />

field with access to a power outlet, as the<br />

immersive action takes place around a central<br />

vehicle.<br />

Schools can make an in-school booking of up<br />

to 5 performances included in one day, which<br />

is available between 1 June <strong>20</strong><strong>20</strong> and 22 July<br />

<strong>20</strong><strong>20</strong>.<br />

The run time is 30 minutes per performance,<br />

please include 90 minutes to set up at the start<br />

of the day and 45 minutes to pack away.<br />

LEARNING OUTCOMES<br />

Children will experience a live theatre audio<br />

experience, which can act as a great<br />

introduction to live performance for those who<br />

haven’t had access to the theatre before.<br />

Promotion of creativity and imagination<br />

through immersive storytelling.<br />

YEAR 3 & 4<br />

This immersive performance can inspire<br />

students to discuss their own narratives,<br />

creating settings, characters and plot.<br />

YEAR 5 & 6<br />

The performance will encourage creative<br />

writing in line with the curriculum. Particularly<br />

identifying the purpose of the story, writing<br />

narratives and considering how authors have<br />

developed characters - inspired by what the<br />

students have seen performed.<br />

TEACHER COMMITMENT & TRAINING<br />

Teachers will need to be with their students for<br />

the duration of the performance at a ratio of<br />

no less than 1:30.<br />

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END?<br />

Access to a guide for achieving a Discover Arts<br />

Award in a day, with PDF worksheet to use free<br />

of charge. If teachers want to receive an official<br />

certification for this award please add an extra<br />

£3.75 per student.<br />

no additional cost. Teachers should liaise with<br />

Full House at the time of booking to request<br />

this.<br />
