FROM THE GROUND UP
Making your home safe and sound
the Smartway
There are a number of ways to make your
home safer, firstly:
1. Lighting
No intruder likes to be under
the spotlight and so installing
good lighting in and around
your home is the first level of
defence.
External Motion sensor
lights will help to put thieves
off.
Plus make sure that you
leave a light on inside the
house when you go out at night
or if you are going away for
a few days. You can also get
timers for the lights so you can
set them to automatically turn
on during the evening.
2. Locks
Decent locks are a must, but
don’t then make the mistake of
hiding a key as burglars know
all the usual hiding places!
In addition, make sure you
change locks when you move
into a new house.
3. Security system
Investing in a quality security
system is a good idea. There
are lots of options on the market
to suit every budget.
From high-tech smartphone
operated ones to more basic
models, a good security system
and proper stickers on the
windows are a great deterrent.
4. CCTV
Once you have an alarm system
installed the next level is
to install CCTV so when the
alarm goes off you can look
at the cameras and see what is
happening.
CCTV cameras are far
more popular nowadays with
technology better than you can
imagine.
The prices are very realistic
and we can install a system in
a few hours.
We can also bring our
CCTV demo truck to show you
what the cameras can see – at
your house.
Seeing a photo of a camera
on a piece of paper or
just receiving a price is not
enough. Call us today for an
appointment.
5. Windows
Popping out to the shops?
Even if you are only going
to be gone for a few minutes
take the time to close all your
windows and lock the doors,
otherwise it’s an open invitation
to any burglar.
6. Neighbours
Finally, be on good terms with
your neighbours because they
are your eyes and ears when
you’re not home.
7. Service
The only thing left is to call
Roger @ Smartway Security
& Technologies for a free visit
to see how they can help you to
stay safer – oh and ask to see
their CCTV truck.
