it is the positioning and character of the<br />

In times when North Otago was very<br />
prosperous, the town built a large<br />
number of commercial, public and<br />
industrial neo-classically styled buildings<br />
in the local Oamaru stone. While most<br />
have now changed their use, they remain<br />
a significant collection of buildings that<br />
are well worth a visit.<br />
