THE Forum Jove (Youth<br />
Forum) is due to restart at<br />
the beginning of October<br />
after taking a break for the<br />
summer, confirmed youth<br />
councillor Laura Sevilla<br />
this week.<br />
The forum “seeks to create<br />
a space for dialogue and<br />
debate, a place to take into<br />
account the concerns of the<br />

young in Alfas” said Ms Sevilla.<br />
The first meeting is on<br />
4th October and the venue<br />
will be the residence for the<br />
elderly in the town.<br />
This meeting will elect<br />
the new youth team and begin<br />
devising a strategy for<br />
subsequent forums.<br />
Scouting for<br />
new recruits<br />
THE Albir and l’Alfas<br />
del Pi Scout Group have<br />
outlined the details of<br />
their upcoming recruitment<br />
day in the Marina<br />
Baixa town.<br />
This was at a meeting<br />
with the Councillors for<br />
Youth and Resident Relations<br />
earlier this week.<br />
What they plan to do<br />
is talk about activities<br />
scouts do, the structure<br />

of the group, their methodology<br />
and educational<br />
benefits.<br />
The local scouts are part<br />
of the Valencian movement<br />
and there are currently<br />
around 50 members.<br />
The meeting is planned<br />
for 28 September at the<br />
Casa de la Cultura from<br />
11am to 1pm.<br />

Safe disposal point<br />

LUIS Morant, Councillor for<br />
the Environment in l’Alfas<br />
del Pi, has been visiting<br />
the new “Clean Point” that<br />
is being constructed in the<br />
town.<br />
This is the second such<br />
point in Alfas and allows the<br />
safe disposal of a number of<br />
items that cannot be thrown<br />
away in the normal recycling<br />
bins.<br />
These include electrical<br />
goods, batteries, household<br />
appliances, oil, rubble,<br />
paints, aerosols and organic<br />
waste.<br />
The area will also have<br />
bins for more standard<br />
waste i.e. cardboard, paper,<br />
glass and plastics (including<br />
tin cans and tetra briks).<br />
The point will be free to<br />
use for all Alfas residents<br />
and will be located on Calle<br />
Tauro, in the Albir area.<br />
