Als die Tischlerei Faustmann 2017 eine neue
Produktionshalle brauchte, war das Baumaterial
schnell klar. Die eigene Kompetenz in der
Verarbeitung des vielseitigen Rohstoffs, die
Liebe zu seinen konstruktiven wie ästhetischen
Eigenschaften und seine hohe visuelle und
haptische Wirkung ließ nur einen Neubau zu,
der das Material Holz zur Schau stellt. Die
Produktionsabläufe in der Tischlerei fordern
kurze Wege, was durch eine extrem kompakte
Bauweise gewährleistet wurde. Darüber hinaus
konnte man durch unbehandelte Holzoberflächen
in Kombination mit großen Glasflächen eine
durchgehend helle und aktive Arbeitsatmosphäre
schaffen. In diesem Sinn wirkt das Material fast
demokratisch: Maschinenhalle und Büros sind in
ihrer hohen Raumqualität kaum zu unterscheiden.
In 2017, when carpentry company Faustmann needed
a new production hall, it quickly became clear what
building material would be used. The company’s
own skills in working with this diverse raw material,
their love of its characteristics in terms of both
construction and aesthetics, its beautiful appearance
and tactility – all this meant that the new build
had to showcase timber as a building material. The
production processes in the carpentry company
make short transportation distances necessary – and
this was made possible by an extremely compact
construction method. Untreated wooden surfaces
combined with generous glazed areas created a
bright and lively working environment throughout.
This makes the material almost democratic:
whether in the machine shop or in the offices, the
indoor environment is of equally high quality.
