Einkaufen mal anders
Normalerweise sehen Supermärkte fast immer
gleich aus. In Kaindorf muss man allerdings nicht
zweimal hinschauen, um zu verstehen, dass es
mit dem Werkstoff Holz auch anders geht. Den
Supermarkt ziert und verschattet eine Manschette
mit Lamellen aus Leimholzplatten. Durch
verschiedene Lamellenneigungen entsteht für
die Autofahrer im Vorbeifahren auf der B74 ein
bewegtes rhythmisches Bild mit Signalwirkung.
Der Supermarkt wurde mit einem umfassenden
Energiekonzept realisiert, das eine Photovoltaikanlage
auf dem Dach, Bauteilaktivierung –
Zirkulation von Wasser in massiven Bauteilen
zur Regulierung der Raumtemperatur – und
den Einsatz einer Wärmerückgewinnungsanlage
beinhaltet. Ein solches Konzept lässt sich in
Zukunft sogar noch nach haltiger umsetzen: Das
flimmernde Lamellenkleid des Marktes könnte
aus Biofaser-Platten gefertigt werden. Das sind
Platten, die ausschließlich Walddurchforstungsholz
aus der Region nutzen. Weitere Supermärkte
könnten diesem Vorbild aus Kaindorf folgen.
Shopping — but different
Normally, supermarkets all look identical. But
in Kaindorf it doesn’t take long to notice that,
when building with wood, things don’t have to
be this way. A collar with a lamella screen of
laminated timber provides the supermarket with
ornamentation and shade. The different angles
of the lamellas create an eye-catching, rhythmic
picture that appears to move as you drive past
the supermarket on the B74. A comprehensive
energy concept was realised for the supermarket,
providing it with a photovoltaic system for the
roof, component activation – whereby water
is circulated through large structural elements
to regulate room temperature – and a heat
recovery facility. In the future, it would be
possible to implement the concept in an even
more sustainable manner: the supermarket’s
flickering lamella skirt could be constructed
out of organic fibre panels. These panels are
made entirely of local timber harvested when
thinning out forests. Let’s hope that more
supermarkets follow Kaindorf’s example.
