From the lake to the mountains and vineyards – Montreux
is world-famous due to its position right in the heart of the
Swiss Riviera on the shores of Lake Geneva. It attracted and
inspired many artists in search of beauty and tranquillity.
The atmosphere and the Mediterranean climate are perfect
for relaxing, but historic castles, vibrant towns, cultural
events, terraced vineyards and lovely countryside await to
be explored. It goes without saying that the region is also a
paradise for wine lovers and gourmets.

Transfer by rail to Montreux and checkin
at the elegant 4* Golf Hotel René
Capt. Situated on the lakeside, it offers
great views of Lake Geneva and the
Alps. Take a walk along the lake shore
– the promenade is lined with flowers,
Mediterranean trees and Belle Époque
buildings. See the Freddie Mercury
statue on Market Square and visit
The Queen Exhibition at the Montreux
Casino, where the group regularly
recorded between 1978 – 1995.
DAY 2
TO CHILLON CASTLE BY BOAT
Enjoy a short lake cruise to the
famous Chillon Castle. Located on a
rock on the banks of Lake Geneva, it
is one of the best-preserved medieval
castles in Europe and the most visited
historic building in Switzerland. Each
courtyard, hall or room unveils a part
of the castle’s history and a visit is
like going back in time. Guided tours
and audio guides can be booked
at extra cost. Travel back by boat to
Montreux and explore the Old Town.
Adjacent to the steep slopes at the
edge of the forest, but just 10 minutes
for the lakeside, amazing views,
narrow streets, many fountains, small
bistros and typical restaurants are
there to be discovered.
The charming wine-growing village
of Chexbres is only a short train
ride from Montreux. A pleasant walk
from the station will lead you to the
family-owned estate Domaine Bovy,
which offers a breathtaking view of
the terraced vineyards of the UNESCO
region Lavaux. Wine lovers will love
the cellars with large oak barrels,
where the wine tasting will start. Move
then to the wonderful veranda with
spectacular views to try more of the
local wine while you savour a cold
platter of regional specialities.
