DAY 2<br />
MONTREUX/VEVEY –<br />
GRUYÈRES / CHARMEY (40KM)<br />
From Montreux cycle to neighbouring<br />
Vevey to take the rack railway up to<br />
Mont-Pèlerin thus avoiding a steep<br />
ascent. Tranquil roads lead from here<br />
to the region that produces the famous<br />
Gruyère cheese. Overnight in Charmey.<br />
DAY 3<br />
CHARMEY – GSTAAD (40KM)<br />
Your ride through Saanenland will<br />
be accompanied by the sound of<br />
cowbells, as the area is dominated<br />
by the milk and cheese trade. Narrow<br />
roads lead through an authentic and<br />
typical Swiss region with fantastic<br />
views towards the high peaks of the<br />
Alps. Overnight Gstaad / Saanen.<br />
DAY 4<br />
GSTAAD – LAKE THUN (40-50KM)<br />
You will always have the option of taking<br />
the train today as the famous Golden<br />
Pass train line more or less follows<br />
the same route. Riding through the<br />
Simmental with its artfully decorated<br />
wooden houses will leave you with<br />
impressions of a picture postcard region.<br />
Take the boat from Spiez to Interlaken.<br />

DAY 5<br />
LAKE THUN – AT LEISURE<br />
cruise on the lake, visit famous<br />
peaks such as the Jungfraujoch or<br />
Schilthorn. Or chose one of the many<br />
signposted hiking trails the region is<br />
so famous for. Overnight in Interlaken.<br />
DAY 6<br />
LAKE THUN – LAKE SARNEN<br />

From here follow the southern shores<br />
of Lake Brienz. There are some steep<br />
climbs en route. If time allows enjoy<br />
a stop in Meiringen famous for<br />
its Sherlock Holmes Museum, the<br />
Reichenbach falls and its meringue.<br />
From here take the train to avoid the<br />
steepest climb over the Brünig pass.<br />

DAY 7<br />
LAKE SARNEN – LUCERNE (35KM)<br />
Follow the shores of Lake Sarnen<br />
towards Mount Pilatus, Lucerne’s<br />
house mountain. At its foot you will<br />
have reached the shores of Lake<br />
Lucerne and can cycle along its<br />
shore, bay after bay, towards Lucerne.<br />

Mountain excursions, lake cruises,<br />
