A DOG'S LIFE
I've yet to mention my children in this column. I have
a boy called Ted, 5, and a girl called Molly, 4. They're
wonderful, playful...furry. They're shih tzus (that's Molly
above). And they love a meal out as much as I do. I've
done some thorough research for you, and these are just
some of my favourite doggo-friendly pubs in the local
area - I'd love to hear yours!

If you read this page
regularly, you'll know
I'm a golf fan. Well, fan is too strong I think, because I
spend most of my time playing oscillating widely from
enjoyment to pure frustration - how can my hitting it
EXACTLY the same (in my opinion) result in such wildly
different trajectories? Santa obviously heard my shouts of
despair as for Christmas I was lucky enough to be gifted
a golfing pro session at the Wisley - watch this space for
improvement. If not, it's on to anger management...

WINGING IT
I don't mean to go low brow here, but if you know
me, you'll know that 9/10 the dinner gavel falls
on chicken wings. I think of myself as a bit of a
connoisseur and from extensive sampling (you're
welcome) the top spot is a fightout between
Wingmans (above) and Thunderbird. I defy anyone
(apart from vegetarians) not to devour a basket of
fresh wings - go on, next time you're in London try
it - you won't regret it!
NEW SOUND GLORY
I have found the holy grail
of audio technology, and
I'm wondering how I
ever coped with anything
else? You may have heard
of them, but if you've yet
to sample nuraphones, I
implore you to try them.
Here's the technical bit for why
they sound so good - nuraphones
measure your hearing by detecting activity
in the cochlea inside your inner ear. They
use highly sensitive microphones (the same series
of Knowles ® microphones used by NASA for the
Mars2020 mission) and advanced signal processing
techniques to measure Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE)
- sounds coming out of your ear - to understand
how sensitive your hearing is to different tones. By
detecting the ear's response to a variety of frequencies,
the nuraphone can create a hearing profile. Once
complete, this hearing profile is used to adapt the
music to match the nuraphone "sound system" to
your "hearing system" delivering perfectly balanced
and crystal clear detail.
