46DAY 22Not Yet“Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let yourheart take courage; wait for the LORD!”PSALM 27:14I don’t know about you, but Patience is something that I truly strugglewith. My personality is such that when an idea pops into my head, Iam ready to go all in and move forward as fast as I can. Sometimes thatplan works. More often than not, it doesn’t, and I am left to pick up thepieces of the frustration that I have created. Patience as I listen to God issomething that has to be developed.During a recent time of intentional rest, I spent time with the Lord,drawing closer to Him, and seeking His face in everything that I wasdoing, He was constantly throwing out idea after idea after idea to me – Iwould have days where I would be so excited that I could barely containmyself – but then, just as He would give me the idea, I would gently senseHim saying – Not Yet. For a few brief moments, I was disheartened. Iwas upset and sad that I wasn’t allowed the opportunity to carry His ideasforward – I mean they were His ideas. I wasn’t taking credit for them.And then He gently reminded me that yes, they were His ideas, and nowwas not the time. I have to wait, and waiting can be a struggle sometimes.Now, there are some things I never have to wait on. I never have to waitand wonder if now is the right time to share Jesus with someone – rightnow is always the perfect time. I never have to wait and wonder if nowis the time to pray, because right now is always the perfect time for that.I never have to wait and wonder if now is the time to love the person
In the Quiet: Developing Trust and Finding Strength 47around me, whom God has placed near me, because now is the perfecttime to show them the Love of Jesus.Today, as you seek God, trust that He has everything under control. Trustthat even though you may not see Him working, He is in fact working.He is actually moving everything around so that when the time is right,it will work perfectly, and He will be glorified. Spend 5 minutes in Hispresence – you don’t need anything else. You just need Him. Just staythere in those moments with Him. Then spend the next 10 minutesasking God to give you patience as He leads you! He knows what He isdoing! Trust Him!Question: What is God asking you to be patient about?
