Ta king Drama online with virtual

performances and Jamboard

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, lessons held in classrooms

were replaced with online lessons, which restricted forms of communication

and interactions crucial for drama lessons. As a result, various methods

were used to provide the essence of interaction in drama lessons, creating

a thrilling and interesting experience for online learning.

Posture and costumes were used to produce and present two

different stereotypes in the forms of images, which were later displayed in

class. As I saw images of classmates being displayed on the screen, their

lively postures, ridiculous costumes and awkward facial expressions made

me feel extremely amused throughout the whole online lesson. The

amusement and the second-hand embarrassment brought by the pictures

brightened the mood of the lesson and made the lesson more enjoyable to

have.

To make classes entertaining and humorous, Commedia Dell'arte

styled lazzi were performed live in class. After my performance, I felt the

endearing adrenaline flowing through my head, leaving me feeling both

refreshed and exhilarated afterwards. Similarly, the physicalities of

Commedia Dell’arte characters were also explored in class. The nostalgia

of my class’ ardour and chaotic atmosphere rushed to me as I saw my

classmates forcibly act out entertaining movements on the screen, which

made me realise how

the use of cameras

interaction and
