THE LAST DAY OF THE SUMMER<br />

km away from Moscow. The <strong>film</strong> maker picks up a few characters, showing how much the<br />

stay at school influences their lives, how their personalities change under influence of the state<br />

kaugusel. Jälgides tähelepanelikult paari kadetikooli kursanti, püüab <strong>film</strong>i autor välja selgitada,<br />

kuidas riigi militaarpoliitika muudab nende iseloomu.<br />

MOTHER INDIA<br />

Jhuma <strong>and</strong> Niladri are a couple from Burdwan in the state of West Bengal. They have been<br />

married for 8 years <strong>and</strong> have no children. This is a major problem, especially in India where a<br />

childless married woman is considered impure. The couple set off for Hyderabad, the heart<br />

of Indian medical reproduction research, on a journey of hope, a journey that will take them<br />

to Dr Rama’s fertility clinic. At the Hyderabad clinic, Jhuma comes into contact with doctors,<br />

embryologists, other infertile women <strong>and</strong> surrogate mothers. The meetings <strong>and</strong> the results of<br />

the medical tests make her <strong>and</strong> her husb<strong>and</strong> face crucial decisions. The journey to Hyderabad<br />

changes them forever.<br />

Abielupaar Jhuma ja Niladri on siin, Lääne-Bengaalias, elanud 8 aastat. Kahjuks pole neil lapsi.<br />

See on perele tõsine probleem, sest Indias loetakse lasteta abielunaist rüvetatuks. Paar võtab<br />

ette teekonna Hyderabadi, India kõige tähtsamasse kunstliku viljastamise meditsiinikeskusesse<br />

dr Rama juurde. Kohtumised siinsete meedikutega muudavad Jhuma ning Niladri elu<br />

kardinaalselt.<br />

MY GRANNY LIEN<br />

Gr<strong>and</strong>mother Lien (84) is suffering Alzheimer’s disease <strong>and</strong> losing more <strong>and</strong> more contact with<br />

reality. Christel (14) is still visiting her twice a week despite her busy schedule of all activities,<br />

schoolwork <strong>and</strong> sports. She loves her granny very much, <strong>and</strong> it is getting tougher for her to<br />

see her in this state. And to see her getting worse. Often gr<strong>and</strong>ma is sad, crying, scared, <strong>and</strong><br />

Christel is not able to make her smile. Is the moment near that Christel will stop visiting her<br />

gr<strong>and</strong>mother?<br />

Kaksikportree vanaema Lienist (84) ja tema lapse-lapsest Christelist (14). Vanamemmel on<br />

Alzheimeri tõbi ning ta kaotab samm-sammu-haaval kontakti ümbritseva eluga. Christel käib<br />

kaks korda nädalas vanaemal abiks, aga ega temagi suuda memme naeratama panna …<br />
