The mushrooms are meant to be sat on,
jumped over, run round and leapfrogged,
and the carved log, the only limit is your
imagination. It can be a space rocket, a
pirate ship, a formula one racing car or
a balance beam, and much more. The
carvings on it represent the flora and fauna
found nearby and are meant to encourage
the children to look for them and stimulate
their interest in the environment.
The Woods nearby, except for the paths,
have been left very much as nature planted
them, except for a bit of tree pruning.
Some of the felled branches have been
used as natural looking edging for the
paths, but apart from that, they are as
nature intended. It is hoped that next year
bird boxes and feeders can be put up to
encourage more wildlife.
The Wildflower Meadow. Mmm. Not
a lot going on here yet, it was rotavated
and seeded by RMBC sometime during
lockdown, but not a lot seems to be
happening yet. Perhaps next year…
Thanks to the FOB community and
volunteers, especially residents of
Bamford Mews, who help in any way
they can to make this community
garden and woodland an asset to
Bamford that we can all enjoy.
