Load an alternate FCTB
Complete the following steps to load an alternate FACE table (FCTB) on a z/TPF
image:
1. Use the ZFCTB LOAD command to load an alternate FCTB to the online
system.
The following example shows an alternate FCTB being loaded on the ZTPFB
image.
User: ZFCTB LOAD MYGDS
System: FCTB2004I 15.20.24 LOAD REQUEST RECEIVED
FCTB2410I 15.20.29 LOAD OF ALTERNATE FCTB SCHEDULED
FOR CPU B FOR IMAGE ZTPFB
FCTB2410I 15.20.29 LOAD OF ALTERNATE FCTB SCHEDULED
FOR CPU C FOR IMAGE ZTPFB
FCTB2412I 15.20.29 LOAD OF ALTERNATE FCTB COMPLETED
FOR CPU B AS REQUESTED BY CPU B FOR IMAGE ZTPFB
FCTB2412I 15.20.29 LOAD OF ALTERNATE FCTB COMPLETED
FOR CPU C AS REQUESTED BY CPU B FOR IMAGE ZTPFB
FCTB2414I 15.20.29 LOAD OF ALTERNATE FCTB COMPLETED
FOR ALL REQUESTED PROCESSORS FOR IMAGE ZTPFB
2. Use the ZFCTB ACTIVATE command to activate an alternate FCTB that is
loaded on an image for a specific processor or for all processors so that
programs can now use the new FCTB.
The following example activates an alternate FCTB for the ZTPFB image on
processor B.
User: ZFCTB ACT B
System: FCTB2004I 15.20.24 ACTIVATE REQUEST RECEIVED
FCTB2209I 15.26.55 ACTIVATE OF ALTERNATE FCTB SCHEDULED
FOR CPU B FOR IMAGE ZTPFB
FCTB2211I 15.26.55 ACTIVATE OF ALTERNATE FCTB COMPLETED
FOR CPU B AS REQUESTED BY CPU B FOR IMAGE ZTPFB
FCTB2212I 15.26.55 ACTIVATE OF ALTERNATE FCTB COMPLETED
FOR ALL REQUESTED PROCESSORS FOR IMAGE ZTPFB
3. Use the ZFCTB ACCEPT command to accept an activated alternate FCTB.
When an alternate FCTB is accepted, that FCTB becomes the base version and
an alternate FCTB no longer exists.
The following example accepts an alternate FCTB for the ZTPFB image.
User: ZFCTB ACCEPT
System: FCTB2004I 16.03.17 ACCEPT REQUEST RECEIVED
FCTB2304I 16.03.17 ACCEPT OF ALTERNATE FCTB SCHEDULED
FOR CPU B FOR IMAGE ZTPFB
FCTB2306I 16.03.17 ACCEPT OF ALTERNATE FCTB COMPLETED
FOR CPU B AS REQUESTED BY CPU B FOR IMAGE ZTPFB
FCTB2307I 16.05.14 ACCEPT OF ALTERNATE FCTB COMPLETED
FOR ALL REQUESTED PROCESSORS FOR IMAGE ZTPFB
Complete the following steps to deactivate or delete an alternate FCTB that has
been loaded to a z/TPF system:
v Use the ZIMAG DISPLAY command with the IMAGE parameter specified to
display the status of the alternate FCTB.
The following example displays information about the COMMIT1 image. An
alternate FCTB was loaded and has been activated on some processors.
