We stand for excellence and aim to spread<br />
the spirit of ubuntu within our community. We<br />
believe that Buy Local <strong>Lowveld</strong> will in the long<br />
term encourage and grow a vibrant and inclusive<br />
small- and medium-size business sector that will<br />
allow our region to flourish.<br />
We are a non-profit initiative passionate about<br />
creating a sustainable, locally owned business<br />
community, with the knowledge that money<br />
spent on local goods and services will:<br />

• Grow existing businesses<br />
• Identify new business opportunities<br />
• Create job opportunities<br />

partnering with Buy Local <strong>Lowveld</strong> and<br />
providing us with a fantastic platform to show<br />
support for local businesses! Each week we<br />
nominates two Businesses of the Week that<br />
get an opportunity to promote their business<br />
live on air. In the past six months Buy Local<br />
has successfully nominated and hosted over<br />
40 businesses which have benefited from<br />

The multiplier effect<br />
When we spend our money at a locally owned<br />
business we cause a Multuplier Effect.<br />
What is it?<br />
Imagine an amount of R1 000 entering our local<br />
economy which is then spent on other local<br />
goods and services. Say each of these local<br />
vendors go out and re-spend that money on<br />
more local goods and services. Now, envision<br />
this cycle happening several times over before<br />
this money is finally spent on goods or services<br />
from outside our region. In this case, the R1 000<br />
could easily end up producing several times<br />
its value in goods and services by increasing<br />
revenue and income opportunities for our local<br />
