IT’S THE END of 2020 – and what a year it has been. With

two lockdowns and a big question mark over the future, the Irish

hairdressing industry has stepped up and dealt with everything

that’s been thrown at it, with grit and determination. To prepare for

2021 and the challenges it may bring, we have put together a toolkit of all

the support, ideas and motivation you need to keep your business on track

over the coming months – find it on page 30. But we’ve not forgotten a little

creative inspiration, too, with beautiful new work from Zeba and a closer look

at Richard Phillipart’s models from Salon Smart Live (which you can watch

on demand, by the way!). Still want more? Creative HEAD has launched a

new podcast in association with Treatwell, The Root of It, so plug in – the first

series is out now. And on a final note, this will be my last issue as editor of

Creative HEAD Ireland, a role that has introduced me to some of the most

creative people I have ever met. Thank you for making my job such a

pleasure over the years – have a very merry Christmas, and I wish

you all the best for the New Year!

JOIN US!

It’s been quite a year, hasn’t it?

Learning to adapt has become

the 2020 mantra but being

unable to host physical events

opened up opportunities to

deliver digital offerings, which

have kept us all connected.

Take Salon Smart Live, our

business networking event,

which went live stream –

and with all sessions now

accessible on-demand, expert

advice is available as and when

you need it. We launched The

Teachings – inspirational video

tutorials from industry pros sharing

their skills in creating wearable,

commercial looks, see page 28.

And there’s The Root of It – our

new podcast series. See who

we’ve had in the recording studio

for series two on page 26…
